a little about me

(and my seemingly frequent existential crises)

I've loved the arts for as long as I can remember. So it was a no-brainer that my life would be in pursuit of using art for good.

Born and raised in Georgia, I moved to New York City at 17 to pursue a career in theater. I studied acting at NYU, but after a fun little existential breakdown while across the pond in London, I realized that I had no desire to be a professional actor; I wanted to be someone who built platforms for artists of color. I was meant to be a producer.

Armed with a BFA in Theatre and a minor in Media, Culture, and Communications (plus an abundance of grit + a sprinkle of fear), I began building my career as a theatre producer. And following that first international identity crisis, I’ve worked with theater companies like The Civilians, Williamstown Theatre Festival, and Manhattan Theatre Club, focusing on new play development and supporting emerging artists of color.

In 2021, I joined as a Producer at Bad Robot Live, a start-up division of JJ Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions. While building this new Live theatre division may have seemed effortless from the outside, it was anything but. Our team of two started working out of an apartment in Brooklyn and eventually grew the division into a multimillion-dollar operation that secured the company’s presence as a critical player in the theater industry. To put it lightly, this experience was a pivotal period of growth in my life.

One of the greatest gifts from my time at the company was the opportunity to lead the social impact programming for our first Off-Broadway show. Witnessing the profound effect of art fused with social impact sparked another (you guessed it) existential crisis. But this time, it was a crisis of the positive variety. It became clear that producing shows was just the beginning of my mission.

This epiphany, paired with several serendipitous life events, led me to take a big risk and make a major change in service of boldly and thoughtfully creating the life I want to lead.

So in March 2023, I left my job, packed my Brooklyn apartment into a Uhaul, and moved to Washington, DC where I am further exploring the intersection of arts, entertainment, and social impact through collaborating with artists, performing arts institutions, and entertainment companies.

Beyond these (seemingly frequent) existential discoveries, I am a dog mom to Nala, a loving partner to Dillon, a devoted daughter + sister + aunt + friend, a budding astrology expert, and a self-proclaimed houseplant expert.
